Question:
I am looking for the best pair of
trail running shoes I can find.
As I am not a runner (the shoes
are for my husband who has just
started some long trail runs as
a part of his marathon preparation),
I don't know what to get. The shoes
are for a anniversary gift. This
is a surprise gift , so I can't
ask him to choose outright. I think
he mentioned something about a stability
shoe. HE is a neutral- type runner
(does not over pronate or under
pronate ).

The best and simplest advice is
to get him a gift certificate at
your local running store. Even thought
he runs trails and roads it does
not mean he needs different shoes.
I've been running trails for many
years without finding the need for
trail shoes. For the most part,
trail shoes are darker in color(to
hide the dirt) and slightly more
stable and at times a waffle sole.
Too many variables to anticipate.
