Question:
I am curious as to people's feelings
about ordering online. What online
stores do you like and why? Do you
prefer it to going to the mall or
ordering from a catalog?
Answer:
If you know what brand and model
of shoe you want and exactly what
size fits you, you can usually save
money buying online. Frankly it's
about the same as ordering from
a catalog, except you don't have
to throw away a catalog when you're
done. The only time I would go to
a mall is, again, if I knew the
brand, model, and size of shoe I
wanted -- but it was on sale! Otherwise
it's best to go to a running specialty
store with knowledgeable salespeople
-- especially a store that supports
the community by sponsoring local
races. Not only can you actually
try the shoes on, but you can also
get really good advice about the
best shoe for your weight, foot
structure, running style, etc. You'll
never get that at a mall!
I have three
reasons for ordering online. The
most important criteria is if I
can't find the desired product locally.
Next, if I happen to comparision
shop and find that the product is
significantly cheaper online, I
might order it. Finally, I might
just be lazy and not want to go
out and find a product.
